Counselling provides a space to explore/reflect on your situation and consider the emotions as well as practicalities.
There are times in our lives when we face emotional (and physical) challenges, these can be linked to the normal process of navigating the human life cycle of transitions e.g. from adolescence to adulthood, getting married, becoming a parent, retirement etc or be the consequence of a more traumatic incident or experience. Sometimes these life events can overwhelm us, in a way that is unexpected and the impact on our emotional wellbeing can be compromised.
People often comment about not feeling themselves that they have lost who they are, or paradoxically are faced with who they are? Often in these circumstances we look to family and friends to talk through these issues to gain some clarity, but this does not always feel the right place to find what we need.
Counselling provides a space to explore/reflect on your situation and consider the emotions as well as practicalities with someone who is unconnected, impartial, essentially a ‘blank slate’. This can feel freeing and allow you to express, release and process the layers of your experience helping you to regain balance and confidence in who you are.
